Huawei proposes the concept of "C2C Dual-link Safety architecture", that is electrical and thermal safety from cell, pack, system, to consumption. Such a comprehensive design ensures safety from products to applications and sets a new benchmark for C&I ESS safety.

 

C2C Electrical-link Safety: Short circuit prevention and isolation

The electrical safety is rigorously guaranteed with protection at every level, preventing short circuits.

Dual cell detecting: Detection of 13+ fault types and cloud-based risk warning.

Six-side pack insulation: Patented reinforced insulation materials are used to provide 6-side all-round protection for battery packs and internal cells to survive 30 days of corrosion by electrolyte and 1500 V voltage.

Five-level system protection: Five-level full-range over current protection, covering the AC/DC protection blind spot. Unique cell-to-ground short-circuit protection, rapid shutdown within 5ms.

24-hour consumption assurance: 24-hour real-time triple RCD, preventing personnel injury. Rapid shutdown of PCS in case of external short circuit to prevent personnel injury and internal components.

 

C2C Heat-link Safety: Thermal runaway suppression and protection

An active protection system provides full protection at all levels to ensure the safety of assets, property, and people.

Cell heat insulation and cooling:Inter-cell heat insulation and rapid liquid cooling, preventing thermal diffusion between cells.

Pack positive pressure oxygen barrier:IP65 protection, prevent oxygen from entering the battery pack and prevent fire inside the battery pack.

System directional gas exhaust:The combustible gases are exhausted through a L-shaped duct to prevent combustion and explosion inside the cabinet.

Consumption top explosion vent:Hourly fire resistance for assets safety. The top explosion vent design for personal safety.

Intelligent Switching Between Multiple Modes

The "Thermal Router" features an advanced thermal management system for adaptive regulation and multi-mode switching based on ambient temperature conditions, similar to how the body regulates heart rate. 30% reduction in energy consumption

High temperature: Active liquid cooling mode. The liquid-cooled unit runs actively, low-temperature coolant to quickly cool the cells. The air-cooled module runs in parallel medium-temperature coolant to cool the PCS

Room Temperature: Natural air cooling mode. Only the air-cooled module runs. Medium-temperature coolant to cool the cells & PCS, lower power consumption

Low temperature: Waste heat utilization mode. Recycling PCS waste heat, heating the cold cells, extremely low power consumption
